Catalyst powder and loose ceramic calculator
Work out what the platinum, palladium and rhodium in a lot of loose ceramic or catalyst powder are worth. Enter the weight and the assay of your lot; the calculator uses today’s metal prices and the payable share and refining charge you set.
This is an estimate of metal value from the figures you enter, not an offer. What a refiner or buyer pays depends on a laboratory assay of a representative sample, the moisture, the refining terms and the date the metals are settled.
How the value is calculated
For each metal: weight (kg) × content (ppm) ÷ 1,000 = grams of metal; grams ÷ 31.1035 = troy ounces; troy ounces × price × payable share = payable value. The refining and treatment charge per kg is taken off the total of the three metals. 1 % equals 10,000 ppm.
